The Accountant III position is responsible coordinating the budget creation with the Project Management Office (PMO) and Technology division to ensure they are appropriately capturing costs related to Projects.  This position will also be responsible for preparing and reconciling Project variance reporting from the Financial Systems with reports generated and provided by the PMO to confirm accuracy and consistency.  This position is also responsible for assisting with the annual operating budget and monthly/quarterly variance reporting. This position will also be responsible for Capital Project accounting, including pre-purchase and project viability analysis, and project capitalization compliance.


  • Coordinate with the PMO and Technology departments to compile annual budget
  • Prepare and reconcile Project variance reporting from the Financial Systems with reports generated and provided by the PMO to confirm accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist the with the annual operating budget preparation and quarterly operating expense variance.
  • Provide budget support to cost center managers
  • Calculate and record capital expenditures associated with Capital Projects and provide support to PMO for validation. 
  • As requested, gather and analyze data associated with the AgFirst District and/or non-District entities in order to assist with long-term strategic decision making. 
  • Through the use of special processes and/or automation, assist Bank groups by providing a variety of financial data and analysis, not mentioned above, that enables them to reach their objectives.


  • Four-year degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting/banking experience
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, financial software applications including excel
  • Excellent communication skills and human relations skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of automated accounting systems
