AgFirst is seeking a Portfolio Risk Officer. The role provides guidance and training on CECL implementation for the Bank and AgFirst District Associations. Responsible for coordinating, calculating, and analyzing the Bank’s quarterly Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses (ALLL) processes. Supports AgFirst’s stress testing models, processes, and procedures. Continuously evaluates the Bank’s risk management function and participates in efforts to strengthen best practices and explore efficiencies. Prepares portfolio risk analyses and presentations for executive management, Risk Policy Committee, and Board of Directors. Represents the AgFirst District on designated Farm Credit System initiatives. Provides leadership and support for Bank projects and initiatives.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provides guidance and training on CECL implementation for the Bank and AgFirst District Associations to satisfy Farm Credit System parallel run and FASB adoption requirements

  • Ensures workflows, processes, and controls are properly documented and SOX-compliant. Develops reports and ensures accurate disclosures

  • Provides training to Bank and Association employees on CECL vendor solution assumptions, methodologies, and processes. Ensures that the vendor solution is properly configured and all parameters are appropriately explained and documented

  • Works with external parties to ensure audit and regulatory approval

  • Monitors the Allowance for Loan Loss (ALLL) methodologies and policies for the Bank and prepares the recommended allowance level on all Bank loan portfolios

  • Supports the Bank’s stress testing models, processes and procedures and complies with the Bank’s model risk management policies.

  • Assists in updating and developing the Bank’s Risk Management function. Duties include, but are not limited to: 1) Working with Farm Credit System Workgroups to develop system-wide risk management practices; 2) Working with Bank and District workgroups to develop and improve risk management practices, and; 3) Assisting with drafting of Risk Management procedures, where necessary

  • Supports the preparation of monthly and quarterly portfolio risk analyses and presentations for the Risk Policy Committee and Board of Directors

  • Responsible for the analysis of various credit risk topics and portfolios as requested

  • Automates and documents the building of reports and processes as necessary in compliance with the Bank’s Data Governance policies.

  • Monitors regulatory changes related to credit risk management and develop appropriate plans and results as required


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum of 7 years of banking experience involving lending, accounting, financial reporting or loan systems
  • Possess strong written and verbal skills, including ability to interpret regulatory statutes and regulations
  • Experienced in writing policies and procedures
  • Possess ability to effectively work with Bank Managers and other Bank Employees in a team environment to achieve Bank goals
  • The ability to work independently with little supervision is essential. Provides guidance and training to less experienced staff as a subject matter expert. May lead projects for the department
  • Requires strong computer skills particularly; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SQL, and Business Objects
  • Must have an advanced knowledge of operational systems and databases
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP
  • Understands trends impacting the business
  • Effective group presentation, leadership and coaching skills

Desired Experience:

  • Moody’s ImpairmentStudio or experience with other CECL calculation and stress testing solutions
