The Accountant III primarily responsible for the accounting and reporting related to Correspondent Lending (residential mortgage) loan portfolio. This position will also assist management and other accounting personnel with operational and accounting expertise.

 RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations and analyze and resolve reconciliation items as they arise.
  • Perform ad hoc audits of Correspondent Lending contractual sub-servicers.
  • Assist with automation of processes to gain efficiencies.
  • Prepare monthly files for ingestion to the Hyperion reporting system.
  • Record any necessary adjustments for Financial Reporting to sub-servicer provided data using Adjust It tool.
  • Prepare quarterly reports for Financial and Regulatory Reporting.
  • Research and analyze monthly variances ensuring accurate variance explanations are submitted for management review.
  • Assist with Internal Control testing and audit requests from both internal and external auditors.

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Four-year degree in accounting, finance, or related field\
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting/banking experience
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Service oriented with the ability to cooperate and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with all levels of bank staff Thorough knowledge and understanding of automated accounting systems and Microsoft applications
  • Ability to plan, organize, and carry out responsibilities under own initiative in a timely, accurate manner
