Under general supervision, the Associate Information Security Analyst performs daily monitoring tasks and status validation of assigned systems, creation and update of system run-books, as well as training material generation of the assigned systems. Daily operations to provide security protection measures to information systems assets will be the core duty. Assists in maintaining the health and operability of the protective systems to protect internal information systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. Understands and adheres to necessary procedures to maintain optimum security. Requires familiarity with active directory domain structures, identity and access management, cyber threats, and financial security controls. Collaborates with system owners to conduct accurate evaluation of the level of system security required on assigned systems. Weighs business needs against security concerns and articulates issues to management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associates degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Security, Law, Engineering, Criminal Justice; or equivalent law enforcement or military experience
  • Prior Work Experience:One to three years of experience in cyber security, information security, CERT, systems auditing, law enforcement, and/or military experience in communications, intelligence, cyber, or information security related field. Experience with Federal and Industry Security and Risk Standards is highly preferred (NIST, ISO/IEC 27000, ISF, etc.)
  • Certifications: Certifications in information security (CISSP, CISM, etc.), security engineering (GIAC), etc. a plus.


Other Skills and Abilities

  • Experience working with security technologies including SIEM, computer forensics, anti-virus, anti-malware, web content filtering/proxy, firewalls, IDS/IPS, DLP and Data Governance, and risk management practices
  • Excellent oral and written communications, with the ability to express technical information in a non-technical manner. Both editing and original content creation tasks will be assigned
  • Strong planning, analytical, decision-making, team building, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize deliverables. Work collaboratively and effectively in high paced situations
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team environment
